Matinee Monday: Chelsea’s New Signing

By: Greg | May 12th, 2008 | No Comments »

Portuguese international Jose Bosingwa has begun the usual, yearly transfer exodus of talent out of Portugal by agreeing a contract and twenty million Euro transfer between his current Portuguese club, FC Porto, and English Premier League runners-up Chelsea. Pundits are already saying that Chelsea overpaid and that Bosingwa won’t hack it in the Premier League.

Pundits are, for the most part, all assholes. Firstly, it’s Chelsea, so overpaying is par for the course. Secondly, I’m a Chelsea supporter and Portuguese Liga blogger so I’ve seen a shit load of both the player, the player’s game, and the nature of the English game. He’ll be just fine. Let’s hope he lights it up for the National Team this summer and justifies that hefty transfer fee.

Scolari’s announcing the full list of convoked ones at around 3:00 PM Eastern, 8:00 PM local Portuga time. As soon as he vibrates his vocal chords and shoots forth the list of the lucky twenty three, I’ll have it posted here for your perusal and discussion. Until then, do your best to keep it real.

By: Greg | May 7th, 2008 | 10 Comments »

rcw
Okay, I understand that it’s painfully obvious that she’s had at least two kids, but Rui Costa’s icon status has to have him pulling from a slightly higher pool of suitors, doesn’t it? A little make up or something wouldn’t hurt. Maybe a hour or so on the treadmill and a ... [read]

Quinta-Feira Question Time: Club or Country?

By: Greg | May 1st, 2008 | 11 Comments »

cfcIt’s really simple this week actually, would you rather see your club win the league or a large trophy such as the Champions League or would you rather see your country lift the World Cup or Henri Delaunay trophy? My club is Chelsea and the country is obvious. Therefore, keeping Chelsea’s recent ... [read]

WAG Wednesday Two Fer on Thursday: Cristiano’s Exes Edition

By: Greg | May 1st, 2008 | 2 Comments »

A while back, I did a big WAG feature on the Portuguese Liga Offside. Therefore, before I break out the gems that were featured on that previous blogging, such as Maniche’s wife, I figure I can run through two pieces of tail Cristiano has had. …And didn’t pay for. Meet Gemma Atkinson (first two pics) and Mia ... [read]

By: Greg | April 30th, 2008 | 4 Comments »

I’m sorry, with my work commitments and commitment to the Portuguese Liga blog, I didn’t have time to pull a decent WAG for you guys today. Also, I’m really mostly committed to using my half day at work wisely, so I can get my ass into Manhattan and to Nevada Smith’s bar to watch Chelsea advance to the Champions ... [read]
