Bosingwa misses WC 2010

Portuguese right-back José Bosingwa will undergo new knee surgery and will miss the World Cup 2010.
This is sad news indeed. The 2 options available to fill his shoes are Paulo Ferreira and Miguel. And if Wednesday’s game is anything to go by then Paulo Ferreira is the most likely candidate. Paulo had a slip-up during said game very similar to the one that led to Greece’s first goal in Euro 2004’s inaugural match. I’m not to comfortable with this setup. On the bright side he performed very well on both matches against Bosnia, I’ll stay confident and believe he’ll come trough for us with some solid defending.
Also on the injury list are Deco and Pepe. They are both supposed to recover in time for the South African event, with a very narrow margin for Pepe.
