José Couceiro sacked FINALLY!

July 27th, 2007 | By: Luis | 3 Comments »

sackedThe Portuguese Federation’s board of directors met today and voted unanimously to end its contract with José Couceiro, Portugal’s Under 21 and Under 20 coach. The board showed its desire to initiate deeper structural changes when it also voted to replace Under 19 coach, Paulo Sousa. Both coaches led their squads to less then favorable results in recent youth tournaments – Under21 Euro 2007, Under 20 World Cup 2007, and Under 19 Euro 2007.

The FPF has promised to fill the available spots quickly with home grown talent that will strengthen the national team program.
