Open Letter to ABC and ESPN networks
You guys suck! Your coverage is the worst piece of sports broadcast journalism I have ever seen. This Saturday, I listened to you morons go on for half an hour about Rooney and Beckham, this at a time when they weren’t even on the pitch. One was off to the locker room and one was sitting on ice, literally. There was a real story unfolding on the pitch and you guys totally missed it.
It’s clear you guys don’t know enough about Portugal or its players to offer anything to balance the orgy of England commentary, but shouldn’t you at least be able to give insightful analysis of the mechanics of the game? It’s no wonder Americans are clueless about this sport.
And what’s with all the graphics anyway? It’s an endless array of large bios, coming next vignettes, cutaways to some pub in London? What’s the point of HD if you’re going to give our plasma displays screen burn. Learn from the rest of the world. They have been covering this sport for decades.
Keep on counting Portugal out. It doesn’t matter to us. Titles speak for themselves!

Deixem essas figuras tristes!
Apre!

Get this…the English started a website called Hate Ronaldo. Yep, that’s right. Like the other person said on this blog — they blame everyone else for their loss. Portuguese fans, please check this site. It’s pathetic.

please get your self something right to do.
AMO-TE PORTUGAL
UM PAÍS SEM VIOLENCIA NAS RUAS E NO FUTEBOL
UM PAÍS COM BOAS PRAIAS, BOA COMIDA E BOA GENTE
UM PAÍS CHEIO DE TRADIÇÕES
DE BONS COMERES
DE BONS VALORES
COM 900 ANOS DE HISTÓRIA
COM UMA DAS LINGUAS MAIS BONITAS DO MUNDO
COM O VINHO QUE VOCÊS GOSTAM TANTO DE BEBER
AMO O MUNDO
AMO O FUTEBOL
AMO O JOGO
SORRI PARA O MUNDO E ELE SORRIRÁ DE VOLTA PARA TI
FOR YOU AGAIN… ENGLISH PEOPLE:
FORÇA PORTUGAL!

It’s almost funny to read how many people dis the Portuguese and Italians on this site for diving, theatrics, etc. I don’t think this is exclusive to them or latin teams and there have been plenty examples from non-latin teams.
Oh and what’s funny is that with the silly rivalry between the Portuguese and Italians in Canada, it would be nice to see the two rally around a common goal. We certainoly have more in common than not

The AMERICANS only watch what they create…while the whole world is tuned to one event and America sleeps…thats the way of the yankee …he is so aloof …what a pity any way who misses them.

Forca PORTUGAL!!!!!!!!!!!!

nVISION,
you are right. I reread my argument and it sucks. Mostly because, it is not an argument. It was a statement. What is right? Probably not. Was it jsutified? Probably not. But as many others, I was angry and sick and tired of certain statements that were being put on the blog. I should have, like you said, reread myself before making such bold statements.
Please accept my heartfelt apology for having offended you in any way.

Catherine,

I apologize.
I too could used better language to speak with you.
Forgive me!
