I’M SO HAPPY THAT PORTUGAL WON LAST NIGHT. I’M A LITTLE DISAPPOINT BECAUSE I DIDN’T SEE THE MATCH AND RONALDO’S GOALS BUT IT DOESN’T MATTER.

[...] Let’s start with Iran. Team Melli, as they are called, defeated Costa Rica 3-2 in a friendly yesterday. This Iran attack has me worried. They can score some goals and as everyone knows Angola’s defense is not always rock solid like it should be. Iran is looking pretty good and I’m not sure we have what it takes to outscore them at the World Cup. Portugal trounced Saudi Arabia 3-0 yesterday. We all know that Saudi Arabia isn’t very good but still that is an impressive result for Portugal. I still think we will shock them, but it isn’t going to be easy. That Ronaldo cat is scary good. Reminds me a bit of Flavio. [...]

How is it possible that you think you cannot win against Iran and, at the same time, u believe u can “shock” Portugal? Have you ever looked closely the Portugues Team?? Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea), Maniche (Chelsea), Paulo Ferreira (Chelsea), Miguel (Valencia),Deco (Barcelona),Ronaldo (Man. Utd)…Portugal is among the 3/4 best teams in the world.I think the only team witch is clearly better than Portugal is Brazil, because ,despite having better teams,Italy and Argentina could be surprised by Portugal..Peace

Euler, I found you here, cara… :-)
Grande abraco tambem para ti.

I saw the match – old news. First half Portugal better, more organized, especially after the first 10 mins. Everything looked very smooth and the match happened in the saudi’s half. 2-0 at half time. POR made it look more simple than it really was. 2nd half, several subs come in, the team loosing consistency – naturally. Saudi’s also better now. Both teams looked equivalent, although POR still attacked more. Quaresma tried a lot, but couldn’t create a really dangerous move. Hugo Viana involved on the last goal. Not shiny but decent performance. Costinha didn’t look like he’s not playing.

I also saw the match…and think that the show-boating that C. Ronaldo did should be punished by Filipao. He can pull stunts like that against Saudi Arabia, but what if he starts doing it during the WC. I know he’s good, but that kind of play should be discuraged….running all the way up the field without passing and trying to score by himself.

In brazil, players get boooed doing things like that. Soccer is a team sport.
