Well after yesterdays game I have to say that it's time to scrap the 4-5-1 formation once and for all. It's too easy to defend against and we don't have a big enough threat up front to make it work. Plus unless you have a Rui Costa type of number 10 mid player who can tear defenses up with surgical passes, it doesn't produce anything.

Also, I think Scolari's stubbornness is starting to become a detriment to the team. He insists on starting Gomes when he's clearly not in form or has enough talent for that position. Starting Simao when he wasn't 100% also made no sense considering that Moutinho is and has been playing well of late.

All the announcers kept saying was that we weren't playing as a unit. After 8 years with basically the same players, when are they going to play as a cohesive unit like the Greeks do?

Well that's my 2 cents worth (3 cents US now). I know it's just a friendly but who are we kidding. That's the way he's going to have us play and that's all we can expect. Ronaldo and Nani will provide a bit more of a threat but good defenses will cancel most of that out. Very little will change between now and the tournament.

On a more positive note, the kits looked better than I expected. Don't mind them so much now. It's starting to grow on me. Simao must have had some input into that because they are all skin tight, just like he likes them. haha
