Quinta-Feira Question Time: Who’s The Keep Nets?

I’m not a huge fan of making drastic changes in a side prior to a large tournament or match. Unless, of course, the side you have needs some shaking up and a bit of ass kicking to get in gear. In that case, I say change away.
While we are well aware of the team’s dearth of talent at the forward position and futility when it comes to score goals, what about the ability to stop them? Whispers of Ricardo’s recent mediocre/poor form have turned into audible discussion. Many currently feel that Benfica’s Quim is the better option for the National Team. Based on how he played against Greece (free kicks aside he looked shell shocked and lost to me) and the fact that he hasn’t looked the same keeper since moving to La Liga side Real Betis, I’d say it may be time for a change. Since it doesn’t appear that we’ll be scoring a whole hell of a lot of goals, we better have someone in front of the net that we can trust to keep them out. What do you think?

I think Scolari will keep Ricardo. I also think people in PT never really appreaciated him an awfull lot, cos he was usually far worse with SCP than with the PT shirt. Anyway, I still feel he’s better than what most people say though I feel Scolari is his biggest “friend” right now.
Quim is an excellent keeper, may not as good as Ricardo stopping penalties
, and should be given a chance sooner or later. Not necessarily now.
Statistics from swiss bank UBS say PT will not pass groups (they also said Italy would win the world cup in 2006) and that the czechs will win the cup, beating ITA in the final on penalties (that in itself would be funny enough). http://www.maisfutebol.iol.pt/maiseuro/noticia.php?id=934540&div_id=1391
If that’s true, than we might see Scolari leave and Ricardo with him…

Scolari will definatly put Ricardo to start for the national team, at this point I think Ricardo is in a game slump and I hope he regains his best performance play by the time it hits EURO 2008.
