Scolari: Believe!

June 30th, 2006 | By: Luis | 29 Comments »

Big Phil is at it again. In today’s press conference, he left a clear message for Portugal’s supporters. “Believe!”

“Believe! Trust these players to give it their all. Tomorrow they will all be filled with the same spirit we saw last Sunday. It’s essential to maintain our positive attitude. That’s how we’ll all take the next step we all want,” Big Phil stressed. “Our players know this is one of the most important games in Portugal’s history and they want to be among the last four, but all we could prepare is already prepared. I can’t and I won’t ask anything more of them then what they are already doing. If we don’t eliminate England, it will be because they played better.”

Scolari couldn’t be more relaxed and he certainly isn’t losing any sleep. “I sleep well at night. I sleep through helicopters, mosquitoes, etc. You don’t pay any tax to sleep well. The players hear the church bell at 7:49 and they want that to continue until July 8th.”

I agree with him. There’s nothing left to do except bring our game to the pitch.

Força Portugal!

I read a story in the Mirrir that C. Ronaldo is unlikely to play. Can anyone confirm?

Scolari won’t confirm, either way. We have to wait until tomorrow, just like the English.

I hope that isn’t the case, but we will have to wait and see.

Either way, I am proud of the accomplishments so far! In my book they are my champions! I have never seen a Portugese team more united and more committed than these guys!

And if C.Ronaldo does not play, someone else will pick up the role I am sure! (keeping my fingers crossed he does though)

What do you guys think of this Germany 1 – 1 Argentina

Both teams wiped out. Whoever wins will have many minutes on those legs. Two overtimes if it’s Argentina. This game didn’t live up to it’s hype. So clinical, both teams have weaknesses. Both teams look accessible.

Ukraine has been taken out by ITALY. And now it is down to 1. Portugal is the only One who has yet to win the WOrld cup Out of the TOP 8.

We have waited for 40 years for this opportunity. We finally Have Scolari on our side and knowing how much he BElieves in our team just makes it all worth the wait.

It’s going to be difficult. The English are good but we must show the wolrd that we are BETTER.

Portugal has been doing awesome ever since Scolari came in the picture and they are giving it their all. He trusts them so we must all do the same.

Tomorrow’s game will be a nail biter. but whatever happens I will be very proud of them.
FORCA PORTUGAL.
YOU CAN BEAT ENGLAND.

THIS IS OUR YEAR. WE MUST WIN THE WORLD CUP 2006

So who will cry? Who will Pout? How will blame the official. I cant wait to see everyones comments after the game. Just remember that Portugal doesn’t deserve to be playing in the quarters. That will put it in perspective. Tiem to watch the 2004 Euro final. DO me a favour everyone and be very emotional in your comments. HAHAHAHA

No matter what happens at the game tomorrow, I can be proud of my country’s team. Can you say the same for yours.

No other team is more deserving than Portugal to be in the quarter finals, no other team!

Enough geeks already. People need to chill out and stop chatting on the PC al day and night. WHy does it seem to be the Portugal fans that are so emotional when it comes to constructive critism. Every team has weaknesses even Brazil. SO when someone makes a comment about your team, dont take it so personally and relax. If you cant handle it then maybe its you that needs some medication. Goodness gracious just shut up.

Is funny to see the frustration of Dutch fans is still alive…and kicking :) ))

Just one more time…Holland NEVER is a crap team with a crap coach, they dont have world class players( maybe except Van Persie), so please dont compare with Portugal..we are in other level.. is natural we pass and you dont…

So “12 more hours” and “Geeks” vao para o caral… e levem o vosso treinador e equipa convosco…

Portugal ja esta nas meias finais… ;)

Jose you idiot most of those players are retired or not playing. You have very little credibility. THe funniest selection on your list was Pauletta. HAHAHA………Cisse has a better chance of being picked and he is not even playing.
