Scolari vs. Agostinho

May 11th, 2006 | By: Luis Paulo | 1 Comment »

Only a few days before the final roster announce, Agostinho and Scolari are having problems. The U-21 coach is complaining about the final roster definition. He says that he don’t know who to cap once that Felipão haven’t decided the roster yet. He also complains that he is never able to talk to Scolari.

Scolari responded him saying that he was the boss. “There is nothing going on. When I need to talk to him, I do. When I don’t need, I don’t. I am the U-21 boss.” This declaration didn’t bring any good for the team. Young players like Rolando are already showing their support for Agostinho.

Scolari is a nice guy, who talks with players, listens, etc… But he´s got a hell of a temper…

I can imagine the U21 coach wants to have things stabilized and start preparing the Euro. But it is also true, for what I was given to observe, that Scolari´s policy has always been to free the kids as much as possible.

About the “fuss”, I think (read it today in Record, but not in the NET) it started with this above described scenario being toped by Oliveira knowing through the papers, and not first hand, that Hugo Viana is going to Germany after all. I can imagine as Deco´s substitute, as he´s the only other playmaker he have.
