Team of Tomorrow Tuesday: Fábio Coentrão

This week’s featured young Portuga prospect is Fábio Coentrão. He’s currently on loan from Benfica at fellow Portuguese BWINLiga side Nacional. Surprisingly, he’s an attacking midfielder, which is a position that Portugal have had trouble filling recently, so he’ll probably be called up to the National Team real soon with the lack of wingers / attacking minded midfielders at that level.

Joking aside, I know there’s varying opinions on his game and he seems to go through periods of extreme effectiveness and then a dearth of activity. Many question his maturity and ability to perform at the highest of levels.
