FIFA decided to give another prize this year in Germany: The Best Young Player of the Tournament. Therefore, they are writing some profiles to make easier for us to follow the under-21 players who will be in Germany this year. Yesterday, they gave us a little information about João Moutinho.

Thanks for doing this post LP. I guess now it’s a bit clearer why I’m always talking about this guy.

I am already a huge fan of this kid. You rarely see a player so complete, although not at all the flashy type. He is the classical and ultimate central midfielder. Like they say, he plays box to box. Not a winger nor a playmaker. Still a fighter, a good passer, great vision like they say, excellent positioning. He was never flashy, rather discrete, the times he played for Portugal. Which were very few. But man… He convinced me.

A guy every team would like to have on the midfield. Mind you, in spite of extremelly young, this is “the” guy in the whole of Sporting’s team who actually looks the oldest, when he plays…
