Fun Foto Filler Friday: Number 10 Hangs Up His Boots
I know Rui Costa took a bit of a hit with this week’s WAG Wednesday, but I’m sure he’s over it by now. Since he’s playing in his final match of professional football this Sunday at home against Vitória Setúbal, I thought it would be nice to take this Foto Filler Friday and turn it into a pictorial tribute to THE “Number Ten” of our Golden Generation, Rui Manuel César Costa.
If you follow Portuguese League football, feel free to check out a fact and video based tribute I laid out for him over on the Offside Liga blog as well. Also, if all else goes well (by this, I mean if work doesn’t get in the way), I’ll have all the Golden Whistle news as its released (within reason) over on that blog for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy the weekend and the pictures…

Eusébio will forever be The King.
But I suspect Rui Costa will forever be O Maestro!

Just wondering if you could get me a link to that Portugal blog you’re talking about? Peaches. Thanks.

Sorry, I got a bit overexcited at the whole Golden Whistle thing this morning and got a bit link happy, okay? Besides, the link love over there is sometimes rather lacking.

According to the poll Laurie has on the main page of the Offside Euro 2008 Italy is predicted to be #1 followed by Portugal at #2. We’re even beating Spain right now. Forca Portugal!
