He is very impressive and better than Ronaldinho at the same age.
HE WILL BE SOON THE ABSOLUTE BEST PLAYER.

well, he’ll have to learn to take a punch first….oh, wait, wrong sport…
seriously though, are you kidding? He’s not even close to the best player at Man U!

Ceasar, what you say is very true. Being portuguese, or from any other nation apart from “the usual suspects”, the road seems to be twice as long…
However, I still feel the best example is to be found in Figo. At the time, not the most brilliant star in the golden generation but still a star surelly. All he later gained he had to fight hard for. Years in Barcelona, already doing more (in my opinion) than others, recognition arrived but not immediatelly.
C Ronaldo has, no doubt, more than enough talent. But if he doesn´t get there, the world will thrash him for saying these (simple and honest) words. Better to get there first and later just say thank you (and piss off)
, than to say what is obvious today, because it might not be obvious tomorrow.
I hope, for him and for all of us, he gets there. And he surelly deserves it.

Sorry Nelson but he is neither better or more impressive then Ronaldinho at the same age. You probably know Ronaldinho only after he went to Barcelona but he is a top class player since he was 17. With 21 he was a top player at a World Cup.
He might be the world’s best footballer but let not compare so soon.
About the fact that he is portuguese. I doesn’t make any difference to me once he plays on the Premier league. George Weah was liberian and won the prize. Zidane was French, Figo Portuguese. However, Romário were the world’s best footballer in 2001 and Edmundo in 97 but they were playing in South America so they had no chance of wining.

Beckham and Rooney have not won world player of the year,Ronaldo from Portugal is not in the same league as Ronal-Dino {ja ja }Ronaldinho,so please do not compare. And one more thing. Viva Brasil.

Dino, C Ronaldo is not in the same league as Ronaldinho but he´s much younger. Who´s to say he won´t be later? I agree that NOW he isn´t in that same league. But who else, in your opinion, actually is in that same league?
LP, the best argument to show what I mean (about the usual suspects) could be found in this very blog. When I started writing here, there was a debate going on weather Messi was better than Rooney. Do you think, world wide, as many people know CR as they did the other two? Maybe now, after 2 years in Man Utd + all the publicity (there is no bad publicity) some people might know him a bit better. Maybe now that Portugal went runners up in the last euro… Doesn´t mean he is, or will be, the best. It means what some have to fight to get to the throne, others have to fight just to be visible.

Well, I think there’s no doubt about it, Im really excited of the game Mexico vs. Portugal, I really wanna see Ronaldo doing his tricks, I don’t think Mexico is gonna let him do some magic with his feet. I hope we beat Portugal, Its all I want!!!

Owen.
Name me 3 players who you would rather have on ManUre than Ronaldo? Rooney is the only player I would even consider. I’ve seen about 75% of ManUre games this season mind you and the only player capable of influencing a game like Ronaldo is Rooney. Mind you, Ronaldo is young and still needs to learn the mental part of the game. He is too easily bothered and he loses concentration. That and he needs better quality in crossing and better finishing, but he is 21. That part of his game will come.
Now in comparison to Ronaldinho, like others mentioned he is ahead of him at same stage but that doesn’t really mean anything. Even though they both have ridiculous skills they are very different types of player and Ronaldo may never quite reach the same level as Ronaldinho because Ronaldinho is more of a play maker and has a better all around game, but even that could change in time. There are very few players of Ronaldo’s age who I would consider before him if I was building a team. Just wait till he leaves the EPL. Then you will see what he can really do.

I think C.Ronalido is better than the other Player. I mean he is better than Ronalidino. C.Ronalido have the tallent and paly foot ball with beauty. In mypoint of view football beauty is more important and the other thing will come next.
C.Ronalido have this quality in football As a bonus he is younger …. He will do much better in future.
In my point of view Ronalidinio just trikes the other playier by reading their mind. If Ronalidino Smiles probabily something dangerous will happen to the other team. Ronalidino can’t trick a plaier whom have a much better experiance with tallent or a plaier whom doesn’t know much about football.
But C.Ronalido is fast he have good control to the ball…. in all he is best.
By this chance I want to say to Cristino Ronalido
some thing I wished for you every good thing to happen to you in future. I wish you good luck for the match you have with France.
I like you so much for whom you are. For the tallent you have, For the way you play, the way you act …… Every thing.

He is Great

Could Cristiano Ronaldo overcome Ronaldinho as the world best footballer?
Short Answer ….No…not in same class and don’t believe he will be.
Very good player and would be a welcome addition to any team. However there is much more to football than fancy crossovers of the ball. Also when he matures he will hopefully be more relaxed on the pitch and less prone to crying and hissy fits.

Would you let the kid cry at will, once and for all…? Please? Does it bother everybody so much? Why…? Looks less manly? The girls don’t seem to complain about it…
The kid has feelings, the kid is also “a kid” and others cry too when frustrated or sad, so what’s the thing…?
Well, OK, we portuguese DO cry in these moments. And we are not ashamed of it. Like my grandmother so often told me “if you don’t like it, eat less”…
Hissy fits…? Stop watching dragonball-z, man… Or Robben or Rooney…

kasets,
As a neutral watcher of Portugal team, in my opinion Cristiano Ronaldo can really “play” (literally) with the ball as I have seen few players able to do it before. Sure there is much more than this in football but from a neutral spectator point of view it is joyful to see how far his talent can go.
He has a way to go regarding personal attitude (mainly diving), in my opinion as well.
Regarding crying, many men have done so while being under high pressure situations. It takes a lot of bravery to cry in front of the TV where millions of people are watching you. To me this is not a sign of weakness but the other way round.

Rain
I made basically the same comments you made ….read my post above. I said he is a very good player.
I also pointe out his attitude which I think is, hopefully, just due to him being a kid.
Forget the crying not crying part….didn’t mean to distract from the conversation. I agree crying doesnt make you less of a man, so I apologise and please no-one take offense to this comment I made earlier.
