It’s all about Scolari
One more news about Scolari’s transfer to England and I’m starting to wonder. How much this can interfere with his plans to Portugal? He is probably not paying too much attention on that and trying to focus on the World Cup but on the first problem with the squad someone will probably throw it in his face. This could, at least, make the group uncomfortable.
It’s probably not so good for England either but that’s not our problem, right?
I don’t understand the need for England and other teams to announce their next coach before the next World Cup. Guus Hiddink says he is going to Russia but shouldn’t he just be dealing with Australia right now? Same with Big Phil. Win the trophy and he’ll be able to coach anywhere he wants.

Well, Felipão (maybe Big Phil after Weltmeisterschaft) has already done things that prove that such speculation absolutely does not shake his concentration on Portugal.
In 1996, he was training Brazilian side Grêmio FBPA and, on the week of the Brazilian Série A final match against Portuguesa de Desportos (such an irony), he made his side’s Paraguayan full back Francisco Arce show up to interviews with a plaster of Paris, simulating a broken leg. And then he appeared all sane on pitch for the last match, surprising almost every living soul there. And Grêmio won 2-0, retaining their 2nd league trophy.
When it comes to football, he does everything for whoever he is coaching.

That’s why, more or less gossip, I’d like him to stay. We can trust him. Sure, he’s no angel. He’s more likely to be the wolf in sheep’s clothes. But he’s a man of his word. He has been, at least.

Listen up filipao! We know you read our blog. We know all about keeping professional options open, but you better have your head screwed on straight for the tourney. If we screw it up, it better not be because you were too busy making plans for tea with Becks! I for one am grateful for your hard work with the ’seleccao das quinas’, but we both know that the ultimate judgement of a manager is the ability to deliver the goods. You once said there was history to be made in Portugal. Are you still up to the challenge? For your legacy in PT to be secure, you have to at least finish the job.
