Just a coincidence
It’s seems like that is a lot of similarities between the 1966 and the 2006 Portuguese World Cup team.
I just don’t get why people believe that facts that happened 40 years ago are somehow related with how the Portuguese National Team will do this year. Probably, FIFA is using the same guys to do their ranking and to write the articles.

I think it’s more of an interest piece rather then a prediction. Coincidence and destiny are often the same thing. Forca Portugal!

Great Article-
We need portugal to live to it’s potential in the world cup and show the world, the quality of our football.
I need portugal to do well – my wife is greek and I’ve had a 2 ROUGH YEARS listening to some greeks who know nothing about soccer claim soccer supremecy in europe.
I suffer through every second of every game and the greeks just jump off and on the band wagon of course they all have leg injuries from the jumping off this year.
Let us keep our collective hopes and dreams that Portugal will some how be able to play it’s style of the beautiful game and win. chao.

Kennedy, that’s rough man! It took me at least 2 weeks to get over PT lose in the EC04 and my wife is also Portuguese. Boy to have a Greek wife and in-laws that must have left a mark or 2.:-)

Ceasar, buddy, the marks are still here and they still hurt. The only thing that can eliminate this pain is to be WC06 Champs. Until then,I got one up on them – my kids(4 and 1 years old) wear Portugal jerseys and have learned to say that the good team plays in red and the bad team plays in blue. Chao.
