Madaíl trusts Scolari
It’s starting to looks like a Mexican soap opera. The Portuguese Federation’s president Gilberto Madaíl shows his trust at Scolari’s words. Madaíl believes he is being crucified by some part of the Portuguese Press about his future in England.
“Scolari has a contract with the FPF and he will keep it. He is a professional and like any other has the right to think about his future, but what we are seeing in the press is not true. By the way, I must say that anytime there was a real offer, Scolari was honest and came straight to me. That happened in July, 2003 when he got an invitation to coach Barcelona and in July 2004 with Real Madrid. Therefore I don’t worry about Scolari and the Portuguese people can remain confident that he will lead us to the best results possible at this World Cup”.
Anybody besides me is getting bored by this?

Yawn…getting tired of this soap opera! Scolari has a reputation to protect. He didn’t put together a top notch qualifying run just to leave before the big dance. After the tourny, I don’t really care what he does. Unless PT wins, then he better at least think twice about leaving. Besides how long do you think a Brazilian will last in that nasty English weather?

Well, Scolari is used to nasty weathers. In 02 he was more contested then ever. First because he chose to play on 3-5-2. Brazilians are not use to play with 3 defenders. Then because he refused to call Romário who had in 2000 his greatest year in his intire career and were keeping that pace in 2001. And for the last, because he only qualified at the last game against Venezuela. So I believe he can make it. After all, it’s not that hard to do better then Sven.

This whole thing is getting out of hand! Who is really talking about it? Scolari? Madaíl? NO!
Anyway, I’d love him to stay. I think FPF also. When the contract ends, if he wants to leave, who’s business is it? I mean, if he wants to go you can’t force the man to stay.
I believe he might stay after the WC, though. So, if he stays perfect, if not Madaíl better have somebody up his sleave and start thinking about it NOW. That’s also his job.
