Hugo Almeida is a promising young talent with considerable experience in the Portuguese Superliga and European competitions. He has several under-21 competitions under his belt and was called by Scolari in the last two rounds of Euro 2008 qualification. He may not have all the moves of a Samuel Eto’o or a Didier Drogba but his stature and physique give him a certain amount of presence in the box. He is hard to beat in the air and has a legendary left foot. He is best known for a thunderous free kick against Inter Milan in last years Champions League competition. Take a look at the highlight video below to see more of Hugo in action.
On the contrary… I don’t know if he starts always – I think not – but I do know he has already scored there.

Anyway, I think Werder Bremen are currently leading the Bundesliga, so, it can’t be a bad place for him…
Just as a side remark, the fact he is a huge guy (for us portuguese mortals) 1.93 m; 93 Kg is in itself an advatage, considering the typical physical structure, of the average portuguese…

C’mon Almeida,
Anyone know if he is getting much game time at Bremen. Bremen would be a great club to be at if he plays, but I haven’t heard of anything. Seems like a bad loan deal to me.
