Not everyone wants to be like Ronaldo
With all the fuss around Cristiano Ronaldo this season, you would think that, as a player, any comparison to the United star would be flattering. Apparently, that’s not the case with a young player named Galiardo who recently earned a spot in São Caetano’s starting 11. The problem is that it’s not his skills that draw the comparisons. It’s his baby face looks.
“Everyone just started calling me Cristiano Ronaldo, but I don’t think I look anything like him,” said Galiardo.
That’s got to be a bit rough, but hey look on the bright side. You’re a footballer, you’re in the starting 11 and you’re gonna get an awful lot of play anyway, so a few more ladies swooning over you won’t kill you. Besides, if they think you’re C Ron, why bother breaking their hearts with the truth?

I agree, Luis. It’s not like getting confused with, say, Sepp Blatter. You can use this one to your advantage I’d guess.

Hi my name is Ishmael. I am football fan, my favortie teams are Holland, Australia and England. I also like some Portugal players like Deco, Ronaldo and Marquez. My friends of Holland BLog said you have good blog. You like Dutch football too?

Australia

Can you hear that, Luis?
I’d say “good blog” is some kind of litotes or however you call that…
Well, however, it’s really a pity that Dutch football attracts so little attention in international media. I only know a few Dutchmen and it’s really hard to stay up-to-date in Austria, Germany and Eastern Europe.
Unfortunately, the Dutch team did not show its best side in the WC, but they were a bit unlucky anyway. Still, a whole lot of people are really mad at certain players (especially RvN, Dirk Kuyt and van Bommel) because the team’s performance in the round of 16 caused a lot of hate and aggression, I must say.

Ishmael – welcome aboard. We love all high quality football including Dutch football. Of course, we have a special place in our hearts for Portugal and all Portuguese internationals.
