Denmark is much better in finishing. Portugal weak on finish. also danish forward Bentner was better than Portuguese forwards.

Man this performance was disjointed(for the lack of a better term).

I just think the folliwng players should be dropped from the starting 11.

Bosingwa…I have not been impressed by this guy….ever!
For some reason he thinks he’s a winger, he’s got no skills on him(not that you need, but if you play where he does, you should have at least one or two) & he CANNOT defend…I would much rather have either Miguel or the “forgotten man” Nuno Valente, if he’s still available. Both of those names are better than Bosingwa.

Also…Get rid of Hugo Almeida…He really thinks he’s Petit.
Same goes for Raul Meireles, except Petit could actually defend too.

One of the players I think suffered the most from the starting XI was Maniche & Danny.
I think most people know both of those are quality players, whoever the way that the Portuguese set up was like, they were caught in two minds (either being the providers or the goalscorers).

Nani annoys me.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad he’s playing and everything, but I think its too much too soon for him( he doesn’t help out in the defence, at least not when I was watching).
Isn’t there a somewhat more expereinced player to have in the attacking wing?
I didn’t mean to off on a tangent there, but I think that this team needs to be sorted out and quick. The Swedes are just as deadly & will takes as much many chances to score as Denmark did.
And the world cup would suck balls if the Seleccao wasn’t in it.

I agree with Nelson’s take. From talking to family members and fellow Portuguese friends, the sentiment was the same that they weren’t necessarily surprised that we lost in this manner. I agree with Andre’s view that we were playing well till the stupid corner. It’s just so hard to have to see these guys do this time and time again (domination in possession, a lead, squandered scoring opportunities, garbage goals given up to the opponent late in games, etc.). I’ll still support these guys no matter what I say or how frustrated they make me.

As for Andre’s view on Raul, I have to disagree. Pepe or Meira need to be playing DM/Trinco. We need a strong, big bodied guy in that position. Raul has some sick tats, but I can’t say much else about him right now. However, I do agree with his view on Veloso. The guy has gone to sh** since the u-21 euro cup. As Scolari said, he was too worried about fashion shows and eating and not worried about soccer.

Also, this whole rubbing our bums with soccer jerseys, why the Cigano? What did he do now?

I think Greg is more upset that too many (if not all) matches COULD have been or SHOULD have been 3-0, 4-0, etc

For every chance Portugal has, we squander what seems like 90% of them. I really hope Querioz starts emphasizing this to the players, because while its improbable to score on every opportunity, yesterday was just abysmal.
